Aug 22, 2016: ICYM Kinnigoli Unit organized “Makkala Nrityothsava” on August 15th 2016 for the children of different schools of Moodbidre – Mulki constituent assembly region. About 27 schools participated in this competition.
The program was conducted in 2 categories, primary school and high school level. The competition commenced with the folk dances of primary category. The children danced with zeal and enthusiasm with the aim of winning a prize.
It was an ample opportunity to the children of the region to exhibit their talents. There was tough competition of schools accompanied by huge crowd.
After the primary section dances as a sign of gratitude and respect on 70th Independence Day and on the occasion of 70th year of existence of ICYM in Mangalore Diocese, retired Indian military soldiers namely Subedar Philip Neri D’Mello, Subedar Lawrence Dsouza, Hawaldar Charles Dsouza, Hawaldar Noel Dsouza were honoured.
After honouring program the thrilling competition of high school section resumed as the crowd increased with the children of different high schools gave thrilling and fantastic performances.
The competition concluded with stage function presided by Rev. Fr. Vincent Monteiro. Fr. George Crasta and Fr. Ashok Rayan Crasta, parish council vice president Mr. Vincent Dsouza were present.
Mr. William Dsouza compered the program. Fr. Ashok announced the prize list. Mr. Stevan Dcosta the ICYM president welcomed the gathering while Mr. Delwin Goveas, ICYM secretary lead the honoring function. Mr. Marwin Fernandes proposed vote of thanks.
