On 14th May 2017 in the Alangar Church grounds The Indian Catholic Youth Movement, Moodbidri Deanery which is celebrating its year of Youth Unity organized the glittering ‘ICYM Awards Nite’.
The ceremony began with invoking God's blessing on the program through a prayer song by ICYM Shirtady Unit members. Dignitaries of the evening were escorted to the dais by the deanery council members. Mr. Jaison Peirera - President of ICYM Moodbidri Deanery welcomed the gathering.
Youth achievers in different fields like Mr. Rodney Preetham Vas (Education); Ms. Joylin Lobo (Sports); Mr. Steevan Miranda (Professional); Mr. Jaison Suares, Taccode (Journalism); Rev. Fr. Joseph Cyril, Siddakatte (Art & Literature); Mr. Ashwin J. Periera (Self Employment); Mr. Vinod Serrao (Politics); Mr. Roydon Dsouza, Palladka (Agriculture); Mr. Anish Dsouza, Alangar (Leadership); Mr. Jackson Eric D’Costa (ICYM Leadership) were honoured with ICYM Awards. Also 5 poor students were given educational aid on this occasion.
Mr. Francis Monteiro - Secretary of ICYM Moodbidri Deanery gave an elaborate history and activities of ICYM Moodbidri Deanery and proposed the vote of thanks.
ICYM Mangalore Diocesan Director Rev. Fr. Ronald D’Souza, ICYM Moodbidri Deanery Director Rev. Fr. Basil Vas, Moodbidri MLA Mr. Abayachandra Jain, MLC Mr. Ivan Dsouza, ICYM Diocesan Secretary Ms. Ancita D’Souza, ICYM Moodbidri Deanery Representative Mr. Anish Dsouza Suratkal were present on the dais.
The Award ceremony was followed by some mind blowing performances by well known singer Mr. Prajoth Dsa, A- virus dance group and some wonderful painting by Ms. Shabari Ganiga. Mr. Sahail Rai compered the program.
