April 11 : Indian Catholic Youth Movement, Central Council, Diocese of Mangalore on the occasion of Year of Youth organized Yuva Tharbeth 2019 - Round 1 on 7th April 2019 at ICYM Diocesan Office, Olivet House, Jeppu, a training programme in order to make the youths more effective resource persons for the present and the future.

The programme commenced with a formal stage programme with a prayer service led by Ancita Dsouza and team. Rev. Fr Richard Dsouza – Director, Canara Communication Centre, Diocese of Mangalore was the chief guest and the resource person of the day. Jaison Leroy Pereira - Diocesan Youth President welcomed the guests and the gathering. The dignitaries inaugurated the programme by lighting up the lamp.

“ World now has the largest generation of young people who are having large amount of resources among them but it all depends on when, where and how they use. The reality is that young people are not simply enough for the decent jobs but need to be extra productive and should be empowered in their workplace ” said Rev. Fr. Richard Dsouza in his address. He also explained the ways to deal with our body gestures first in order to have control over ourselves and the various types of methods to utilize the potentials hidden amongst us.

The aim of compiling this training was to make the young people informed, productive, empowered and to acknowledge the potentials they have within themselves. Fevisha Monteiro - General Secretary proposed the vote of thanks. Roshan Rocco - Secretary, ICYM City Deanery compered and concluded the programme. A total of 40 youths were present in the session. Yuva Tharbeth – 2019 consists of 3 sessions, the 2nd session will be held on 14th April 2019.
