Nov 20 : On the occasion of Children's Day, the ICYM Nellyady Unit, in collaboration with the Youth Commission and Catholic Sabha Nellyady Unit, organized a special celebration on 17th November 2024 at Infant Jesus Church, Nellyady. The event was held under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Gratian Alvares.

The programme began with a prayer song, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. Vineetha Deepthi D'Souza served as the Emcee for the formal stage proceedings. ICYM President Harshitha D'Souza welcomed the gathering, while the dignitaries on stage included:- Rev. Fr. Gratian Alvares, Parish Priest & ICYM Director, Nishmitha D'Souza- Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council, Sr. Theresa John-Superior, Victor Strella - 21 Commissions Coordinator, Preetham D'Souza -Catholic Sabha President ,Harshitha D'Souza-ICYM President.

The event saw the honoring of all catechism and school teachers from the parish, in recognition of their dedicated service, with Rev. Fr. Gratian Alvares presented them with a token of appreciation gift. The event's sponsors were also acknowledged for their generous contributions. Rev.Fr.Gratian Alvares in his message upheld the importance of Education,Prayer & Discipline in the Children's Life. Catholic Sabha President Preetham D'Souza delivered the vote of thanks, marking the end of the formal stage programme.

Following the formalities, the celebration continued with various fun-filled activities. Nishmitha D'Souza hosted the event, which saw active participation from around 38 children. The children were divided into three groups, and ICYM & Catholic Sabha members facilitated a variety of group and individual games, action songs, and entertainment. The children were thoroughly engaged and expressed immense joy throughout the activities.

At the conclusion of the games, all participants were rewarded with exciting prizes and gifts, adding to the overall joy and energy of the day. In a heartwarming gesture, members of ICYM, Catholic Sabha, along with the cheerful children of the parish, gathered to celebrate the birthday of the beloved Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Gratian Alvares. The occasion was filled with well-wishes and prayers, as everyone expressed their gratitude and admiration for his dedication and service to the community.

The event also included a delicious spread, with breakfast, lunch, and in the evening, sweets, ice creams, and chocolates were distributed to all those in attendance. The Children's Day programme concluded at 4:00 p.m. on a high note.

The event's success was made possible by the enthusiastic cooperation of all ICYM Youths and Catholic Sabha members, whose collective effort ensured a memorable celebration for the children.
