Oct 23, 2016: Indian Catholic Youth Movement, Mogarnad Deanery in association with ICYM Borimar unit organised “SODNA 2K16”, a diocese level talent hunt program for the diocesan youth on Sunday 23rd October 2016 at Borimar Church premises.
The program commenced with a prayer song was presided by Fr. Henry D’Souza - Director ICYM Mogarnad Deanery and Mr. Roy Castelino, President of Karnataka Konkani Sahithya Academy was the Chief Guest.
Fr. Melwin Noronha, Parish priest of Borimar Church, Mr. Roshan Martis, Vice President of Borimar Parish, Sr. Hosbarga of Jeeven Nilaya Convent Borimare and members of the executive council namely Mr. Ashwin Sequeira-Treasurer, Ancita D’Souza- General Secretary, Mr. Wilson D’Souza- Deanery representative, Ms. Fayal D’Souza- Karnataka regional representative were present on the dias.
Then singing and dance competitions were held and post lunch quiz and skit competitions were held.
The valedictory program was held with Fr. Henry D’Souza- Director ICYM Mogarnad Deanery presiding the function and Fr. Ronald D’Souza, Diocesan ICYM Director being the Chief guest.
ICYM Diocesan President Mr. Jackson D’Costa, Fr. Melwin Noronha, Parish priest of Borimar church, Mr. Roshan Martis, Vice President of Borimar Parish, Mr. Ashwin Sequeira-Treasurer, Mr. Wilson D’Souza- Deanery representative, Mr. Viyon Viegas, Convenor of Sodna 2K16 were present on the dias.
Deanary President Mr. Sandesh Ferrao welcomed the gathering and Secretary Mr. Lenvy Pereira proposed the vote of thanks. Mr. Anil Sequeira and Mr. Ashwin Manela compered the programme.
Around 500 youths participated in this event.
Results:
Quiz: 1st place Farla unit and 2nd place Salethur unit.
Skit: 1st place Shamboor unit and 2nd place Cordel unit.
Dance: 1st place Vamanjoor unit and 2nd place Cordel unit.
Singing: 1st place Cordel unit and 2nd place Vamanjoor unit.
Overall Champions: 1st place Cordel unit and 2nd place Vamanjoor unit.
