Sep 13 : ICYM Mangalore Diocese Central Council celebrated the birthday of their director Rev Fr Ashwin Lohith Cardoza by visiting JEEVADAN - Rehabilitation Centre at Kaikamba on 13th September 2022. Jeevadan is a care and support centre for people living with HIV/AIDS. The daughters of St. Camillus started Jeevadan Palliative Care Centre on Feb 2nd 2004 to provide care and support for HIV/AIDS infected abandoned women and orphan children. At present about 26 children are residing in the centre.

The Director along with the committee members planted a fruit tree in the garden of the centre along with Sr Bincy. Rev Fr Ashwin Lohith Cardoza introduced all the council members to the inmates of the care centre. After the introduction Melston Wilfred Noronha and Jaison Lawrence Crasta conducted various action songs, fun games for the children. As a token of love, gifts were given to all the children present there.

Fr Ashwin prayed for the children and then celebrated his birthday by cutting the cake. Anil John Sequeira, ICYM Diocesan President, General Secretary Nishal Preemal D’Souza and 8 other Council members were present for the celebration. Nishal D’Souza delivered the vote of thanks. In celebrating the gift of life in a novel way, members of the ICYM cherished these memorable moments.
