Indian Catholic Youth Movement, Central Council Mangalore Diocese organised a one day Training Program to ICYM unit Presidents and Secretaries of Mangalore Diocese on 14 December 2014, Sunday at Youth Center, Olivet House Mangalore.
Mangalore diocese has 95 ICYM units, who are working for the church, community and society.
The program was presided by Rev. Fr. Ronald Prakash D'Souza, ICYM Director Mr. Marcel D'Souza, Ex - President of ICYM was the Chief guest.
Mr. Marcel D'Souza said “During our time we haven't had media to communicate, only letters and circulars were sent, today social media have improved a lot so use the media and serve the community". He appreciated the work done by the ICYM in the Diocese.
Ms. Melreeda Rodrigues, ICYM President welcomed the gathering, Ms. Venicia Rodrigues General Secretary ICYM, rendered vote of thanks; Mr. Alwyn D'Souza compered the program.
A session on Catholic Youth Leader and his service was given by Rev. Fr. Clifford Fernandes, Professor at St. Joseph Inter Diocesan Seminary.
Mr. Norbert Misquith, spoke about “Formation - Community service – Mission”.
A Konkani skit by Kalakula team Mangalore was performed.
Holy mass was celebrated by Rev Fr. Ronald D'Souza.
This event was very useful to the youth leaders to work in a team and to lead them, motivational too.
