India is known for its forest resources. But due to rapid exploitation of forests they are going to be seen as endangered ones.To raise awareness among the masses about the importance of trees, their plantation and conservation, vanamahotsava was celebrated on July 12, under the leadership ICYM Bantwal Unit.
Rev.Fr Maxim Noronha, the Parish Priest, inaugurated the program by planting a sapling in the church premises. Mr Francis Saldanha, president of Parish Pastoral Committee and Mrs. Priya Carlo, secretary of the PPC, Mr Flewin Deepak Pinto ICYM President, Mr. Sunil Lewis ICYM animator ,ICYM members and parishners were present for the program.
Around 250 saplings were distributed at the Thodambila chapel, 750 saplings were distributed at the church among the parishners on account of vanamahotsav.
