Nov 09, 2017: Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Bellore unit conducted Children's Day on 5/11/2017 first Sunday in the Parish Hall from 9.30 a.m. - 5 p.m. for all 1st to PUC children belonging to Bellore Church. The hall was decorated with beautiful background and filled with balloons by ICYM members.
The program started after the mass at 9.30 a.m. with the stage program. Parish Priest Fr. Peter Aranha, Fr Richard Dsouza - Guest of honor, Mr Vijay Fernandes - Parish Vice President, Ms. Gretta Fernandes - Parish Secretary, Br. Joel and ICYM Animator Mr Vinod Fernandes were present. The ICYM members welcomed them and later inauguration of the program was held in a different way where guest had to put up their hands print on a chart. Few children put their prints too.
Fr. Peter wished well to all and with vote of thanks the stage program ended. During stage program momentos were given to sponsors of the program. Later 15 mins were given for breakfast and registration. A total of 68 children were listed. Fr Richard later gave talk on "Children and Media", it's good and bad things were discussed by Fr with children. Momento was given to Fr Richard for his talk and spending his precious time with us. Later action song was presented before the children where they danced with the ICYM members teaching them. Folllowing this, Ice breaking session was held where ICYM team decided them into 6 groups and each group was given an ICYM member as their animator. Later ICYM team made them to sit in groups. Quiz was conducted with 9 rounds and ICYM team were amazed with the children answering to every question asked. Points were given during quiz.
The time was 1.30 p.m. and it was time for lunch break. Sree Sangatan members cooked lunch and helped in many ways. Later at 2.00 the children were given a skit topic where they had to act for 3+1 mins. 30 mins were provided so that they can prepare themselves. At 2.30 skit started and all 6 groups presented their skit in an amazing manner with a moral. Action song was conducted later and now it was time for different variety activities. 2 hour activities were held for the children where every group member actively took part. Activities like writing names, freeze, fashion walk, balloon pass and many others were organised. Points were given for winning team. And now it was time for closing ceremony and guests took on the dias. The team welcomed them.
Results of skit was announced and ICYM team totalled all points and 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes were given to the winning team members and later participation prizes were distributed. Guest of honor Ms Ruby Fernandes wished the ICYM team well for conducting such a wonderful program for the kids and told the ICYM team to continue this work. ICYM team thanked everyone who helped in making it a successful one specially Sree Sangatan members and also the the limelight the children. With evening the program ended and was one of the successful event which took place in the parish.
