Jan 8 : On the occasion of Annual Day Celebration of Holy Rosary Church Alangar, Catholic Sabha Alangar Unit in collaboration with ICYM Alangar Unit and other Associations organised a Free Mega Health Camp On 07 January 2024 at Holy Rosary Church Alangar which included Cancer, Dental and Eye Testing Programs free of cost to all people of the locality.
This Health Program was organised with the joint collaboration with Yenepoya Deemed to be University, Deralakatte and Prasad Netralaya, Mangalore. The Camp began with a small stage program by lighting Diya and welcoming the gathering with a prayer song sung by members of ICYM Alangar Unit.

Parish priest Fr Walter Dsouza, Vice President Mr Edward Serrao, Secretary Lawrence, All Commissions coordinator Mr Rajesh Dsouza, Catholic Sabha President Mrs Jacintha Aranha, ICYM President and Animator - Rayanal Rodrigues and Mr Ivan Dsouza; and Head Incharge of Camp Dr Ashwini, Dr Azeez, Dr Ahana, Dr Ashik Salian were present on the dais.
Catholic Sabha Alangar Unit president Mrs Jacintha introduced the purpose of the gathering followed by a talk by Fr Walter Dsouza on the importance of Health and one of the doctors gave a brief information about the benefits of the Mega Health Camp.
The Camp included Free health facilities like Mammography (Cancer test and Free Pap Smear Test for women over 18 years), Free Dental facilities like testing, cleaning and filling of teeth and free eye testing and other eye related facilities were provided, also good quality Eyewear / Lenses were provided with a reasonable price.
Overall the program was successful to reach many people including Non-Catholic and had a great response by the people. Program was held in a well disciplined manner with the support of ICYM members who rendered a good service and was concluded on time.
