Nov 10 : On 5th and 6th of November 2022, Indian Catholic Youth Movement Central Council Diocese of Mangalore organized Skill with Will – An employability training programme for youth of all over the Diocese at Shanthi Kiran, Bajjodi.

The programme began by reading Word of God. The dignitaries later inaugurated the seminar by lighting the lamp on the dais. Rev Fr Santhosh Rodrigues – Director of Pastoral Council Shanthi Kiran Bajjodi was the chief guest, and Dr Vidya Vinutha D’Souza - Asst Professor - MSW Dept St Aloysius College (Autonomous) Mangalore was the resource person. Rev Fr Ashwin Lohith Cardoza -Director ICYM Mangalore Diocese, Anil John Sequiera -President ICYM, Nishal Preemal Dsouza – General Secretary were present for the inaugural ceremony.

Chief guest Rev Fr Santhosh Rodrigues wished and appreciated the youth for organising a skill development programme which would prepare the youth for a better future.

During both the days of the programme, the resource person  discussed Interview facing skills, Interview Etiquette and Resume Preparation.

Melroy Prem D’Souza – President of Bantwal deanery led the prayer. Anil Sequiera welcomed the gathering, Nishal D’Souza delivered the vote of thanks and Philomena Fernandes compered the inaugural programme.

On the 2nd day, a valedictory programme was held at the same venue.  Fr Ashwin Cardoza, Anil Sequiera, Nishal D’Souza, Dr Vidya D’Souza were present on the dais . Participants were given a chance to share their experience of the workshop. Mr Jackson D’Souza, Mr Arith and Ms Melita shared their experience saying that the workshop was very essential, and that they learnt about interview etiquettes and how to prepare their resume. They also appreciated the ICYM Central Council for organizing such useful training for the youth. Fr Ashwin Cardoza addressed the gathering and thanked the resource person for training the youth selflessly. Dr Vidya thanked the ICYM Central Council for giving her an opportunity.

Around 40 participants took part in the training. A certificate of participation was also given to the participants. The programme concluded with the ICYM theme song. Viola Reshma Lewis was the compere for the valedictory event.
