June 13 : The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Hospet Unit celebrated its 48th Annual day, on 9th June 2024, at Holy Cross Church Hall, Hospet.
The celebration began at 7 pm with a prayer service led by ICYM Unit members. Christon Fleming Serra, the Unit President, extended a warm welcome to the gathering. Rev. Fr. Gregory Dsouza - Parish Priest of Holy Cross Church Hospet, inaugurated the program along with V. Rev. Fr. Onil Dsouza - Director of ICYM Moodbidri Deanery, Mr. Anil Lobo - The Chairman of Catholic Co-operative Bank Ltd, Mangalore, Mr. Manohar Cutinha - Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council Hospet, Mr. Vincent Santhmayor - Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council Hospet, Mr. Brendon Cutinha - President of ICYM Moodbidri Deanery, Mr. Selwyn Jude Colaco, Mr. Denis Fernandes and Mrs. Leena Tellis - Animators of ICYM Hospet Unit. Ivy Sonal Rodrigues, the secretary of ICYM Hospet unit presented the Annual Report of the year 2023-24.

Thereafter, Mr. Manohar Cutinha addressed the youth on the importance of government jobs, while V. Rev. Fr. Onil Dsouza highlighted some key points from the annual report. Mr. Anil Lobo addressed the issue of youth addiction to alcohol and drugs, urging them to avoid such vices. In his presidential speech, Fr. Gregory Dsouza encouraged the youth to seek employment in India and congratulated our own ICYM members for pursuing noble professions.
ICYM Hospet Unit Felicitated Mr. Nellu Permannur for his help and guidance throughout the Annual Day program. As Nithyadar Mai ward won the championship for the year 2024, a Trophy was presented to them.
Following the formal program, a cultural event featured dances by ICYM and YCS members. The evening concluded with a performance of the play "Kon Uleitha," written by Mr. Nellu Permannur, and was presented by ICYM and artists of Hospet parish.
Mishel Tauro - Lady Vice President of ICYM Hospet Unit, proposed a vote of thanks. Renita Dsouza, member of ICYM Hospet Unit compered the program. The event was a grand success with active participation from the parishioners and ICYM members.
