Aug 16 : ICYM Bejai Unit celebrated the Feast of Assumption of Mother Mary and Independence day on 15th august 2020. The day began with the Eucharistic celebration at 8:30 AM and the Liturgy was conducted by the ICYM members followed by flag hoisting ceremony in the Church ground.

The program commenced by singing Vande Natharam by the ICYM members. The chief guest of the program was Rev. Dr. J. B. Saldanha - Director of ICYM and Parish Priest of Bejai Church, Rev. Fr. Pramod Crasta - Assistant Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Robert D'Souza - Principal Lourdes Central School, Deacon Vishwas Joy Misquith, Mr. P. Shridhar - Forest Range Officer (FRO), Rohan Sequeira - Youth Animator, Mr. Ashok Pinto - Vice President Bejai Parish Pastoral Parishad, Mrs. Preethi Gones - Secretary Bejai Parish Pastoral Parishad were present on the dais. Shiny Lewis - ICYM President welcomed the guests and the gathering. The National flag was hoisted by the chief guest Rev. Dr. J. B. Saldanha. Mr. Virendra Alva - P.T teacher of Lourdes Central School gave the command. Rev. Dr. J. B. Saldanha - chief guest addressed the gathering and Mr. P. Shridhar - FRO spoke a few words. After which, the ICYM members sang few patriotic songs.

On the occasion of Independence day and Feast of Assumption online collage competition was organized by ICYM. The theme of the collage competition was Independence day and Blessings of Mother Mary. Participants were categorised into 3 age groups: 9-12, 13-16, 17-28. The criteria to judge this competition was creativity, message and presentation. The first, second and third category consisted of 10, 9 and 12 participants respectively. Sonali Rodrigues - ICYM Treasurer read the names of the winners of the online collage competition.

First category: Age 9-12 years:

2. Nilisha D'Sa, Kapikad Lower Ward

Mr Ashok Pinto - President Lions Club Mangalore Centenary gave saplings and sweets to everyone present for the program. Beverly D'Souza compered the program. Wilma Martis - ICYM Secretary rendered the vote of thanks.
