Jul 13 : Vanamahotsava (Environmental Day) celebration at Our Lady of Vailankanni Church Farla was collaborated by the Environment Commission and ICYM Pallotti Youth Farla. The celebration was held on 10th July, 2022.
Environment day celebration commenced with Holy Eucharistic celebration. Liturgical responsibility was taken by ICYM Pallotti Youth Farla members and environment commission members. The event was inaugurated by the slogan “Save the trees; Save the earth”.

Shortly after the mass, ICYM vice president Kevin Rodrigues welcomed all including Parish Priest Fr. John Pereira, Fr. Sunil Miranda, Fr. Jason Dsouza, Vice President Cyprian Rodrigues, Secretory Naveen Menezes and Environment Commission President Joy Dsouza and ICYM President Sonia Albuquerque.
Fr. John Pereira delivered a speech on the significance of the day. He said that “Laudato si” was inspired by the good deeds of St. Francis of Assisi who considered nature as his family.
Fr. John Pereira distributed the fruit plants to Zonal (Ward) leaders. ICYM President and Environment Commission President distributed to the guests. 200 fruit plants were distributed to the parishioners. As a symbol of remembrance for Vanamahothsav, the fruit plants were planted in the church surroundings.
