Sep 18 : Canara Catholics, specially the Mangalore & Udupi community Catholic Christians celebrate Monti Fest on the 8th of September. In Konkani, Mother Mary means Monthi. It is also used to commemorate the harvest festival, which is a time of thanksgiving for all the fresh crops.
Indian Catholic Youth Movement, Venur unit celebrated Monti Feast along with members of Peradi substation on 11th September 2022. A Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev Fr Peter Aranha & Rev Fr Alban D’Souza at the Chapel.
After the celebration mass, a small prayer service was conducted by Ms. Jennifer and the ICYM members. Then, the Parish Priest Fr Peter Aranha blessed the new yield, and then addressed the gathering. A sumptuous meal was prepared and everyone enjoyed the meal.
Mr Anil Pinto, the coordinator of the Small Christian Community was present on the occasion.
