Sep 3 : ICYM Kasaragod Deanery in association with the Vorkady unit organized Youth Cafe-2K22 on 28th August 2022 at Sacred heart of Jesus Church, Vorkady from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. Youth from all the 15 parishes of Kasaragod Deanery came together to make this event a successful one. Over 440 youths were present during the programme.

Fr. Rupesh Madtha Diocesan Secretary for Ecumenical Commission and former YCS Director of Mangalore Diocese was the Chief Guest of the function. V. Rev. Fr. Stany Pereira, the Vicar Vara of Kasaragod Deanery, Rev. Fr. Anil Lobo the director of ICYM Kasaragod deanery, Rev. Fr. Paul Sequeira the director of ICYM Vorkady unit, Sr. Severin D’Cunha the animator of ICYM Kasaragod Deanery and ICYM Vorkady unit, Mr. Jayaprakash D’Souza the Secretary of Vorkady church, Joel Lancy Kollangana, ICYM Mangalore diocese Amcho Yuvak Editor were present as the guests of honour.

The inaugural ceremony commenced with a prayer song sung by Vorkady unit members, followed by a welcome dance. Liston Rahul Dsouza the president of ICYM Vorkady unit welcomed the gathering. Fr. Paul Sequeira energized the youth with his short message. Inaugural program was concluded with the vote of thanks by Sushmitha D’Souza the Secretary of ICYM Vorkady unit.

Fr. Rupesh Madtha was the main resource person for the session. Mr Prajwal Sequira from Derebail and Merwin Jaison Ferrao from Ferar began the session with ice breaking activities. The entire crowd was divided into 12 groups for discussion. The topics given to the groups for the discussion - Life may be sad but God is our dad, Addictions and life deductions, marry v/s sorry, impress v/s depress, earn but save to learn, Boys locking inside or rocking outside. All the group members actively participated in the discussion. Fr Rupesh Madtha summarized the reports presented by the groups and induced the youth to think about the right path in their life. All through the discussion snacks and soft drinks were provided to the groups. 
Thereafter the Holy Mass was celebrated which was followed by lunch.

Afternoon session proceeded with games and fun action songs led by Fr. Rupesh Madtha and team. A short fabulous cultural programme was presented by members of Mariashram, Miyapadav and Kollangana units.

Valedictory programme of YOUTH CAFE 2022 initiated at 3:45 pm. Maxi Rosten D’Souza the president of ICYM Kasaragod Deanery, welcomed the gathering. Prizes were distributed to the winning groups of various activities conducted during the session. The results of the Lucky draw coupon which was conducted for the expenses of the youth cafe were announced. The valedictory programme was concluded with vote of thanks by Jashmitha the secretary of ICYM Kasaragod Deanery. The program ended with a baila dance.
