Oct 29 : Indian Catholic Youth Movement, St. Joseph Vaz, Mangalore South Deanery held their annual inter unit sports event – "Khelotsav – 2023" on 22nd October 2023 at Paneer Church Grounds.
God’s presence was invoked through a prayer song. Rev. Fr Victor Dmello, parish priest, Our Lady of Mercy Church, Paneer presided over the program. Rev. Fr Jayaprakash Dsouza, Director, ICYM Mangalore South Deanery, Mrs Gretta Dcunha, secretary, PPC Paneer, Deacon Sandeep Rodrigues, Paneer, Mr. Glen Shelton Dsouza, President, ICYM Paneer unit, Mr Melston Dsouza, Sports Secretary, Ms Jevita Ferrao, President and Ms Ashvia Anna Lasrado, Secretary, ICYM, Mangalore South Deanery were also present on the dais.

Mr Flinton Cutinha, Vice President, ICYM Mangalore South Deanery welcomed the gathering. The guests inaugurated the program by releasing the pigeons and unveiling the trophies. Rev Fr Victor Dmello and Rev Fr Jayaprakash Dsouza in their speech motivated the youth and wished them good luck. Mr Johnson Dsouza, Joint Secretary, ICYM, Mangalore South Deanery rendered the vote of thanks.
The event Involved throwball for Girls, Volleyball for boys and mixed cricket. Paneer unit emerged as the Champions of Khelotsav – 2023, while Permannur unit emerged as runners up. The winners of the event are as follows:

Individual performers were also awarded for their excellent play during the games.

Best Batsman – Deril , Permannur

A total of 9 units took part in the event. Food and goli soda counters were set up.
Mr Melston Dsouza rendered a general vote of thanks. Sponsors and well wishers were presented a token of gratitude. Ms Venisha Dsouza, Paneer compered the program.
