July 26 : The Indian Catholic Youth Movement, Fajir Unit began this year by honoring their parents by celebrating Parent's Day "UGAM - 2023 '' significantly on July 23, 2023 at Our Lady of Mercy Church Hall, Fajir.

The Dignitaries for the program were Rev Fr Anil Joel Dsouza, Parish Priest and the Director of ICYM, Mr. Valerian Dsouza & Mr. Preetham Noronha, Vice President & Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council, Mr. Flywan Dsouza, Representative of all Ayog and President of Youth Ayog and Sr. Preema Dsouza, Animator of ICYM Fajir Unit.

Parents' Day was celebrated for the first time ever in the history of Fajir Parish, Varado & Diocese.

Viyolla Ishmitha Lobo, President of ICYM Fajir Unit Welcomed the gathering. The dignitaries Inaugurated UGAM – 2023 Symbolically.

The first part of the program began with the prayer service, which was an important part of this event, took place beautifully and meaningfully. Youth along with their parents participated diligently.

The Liturgy of the parents' day was conducted by the youths which included youth and parents offering their intentions individually.

After the prayer service Games as well as Animations were conducted for the parents and also for youths. Everybody took part tirelessly. At the same time, youth were given opportunities to present their talents.

Fr Anil Joel D Souza, Parish Pastoral Council Secretary Mr. Preetham Norohna and Animator Sr. Preema addressed the gathering and gave an aesthetic message for Parents and youths.

Joyline Florida Lobo, Secretary of ICYM Fajir Unit delivered Vote of Thanks. Jeethan D Souza assisted as Master of Ceremony. A Token of Gratitude was presented to all the guests as well as the parents.

In conclusion, the parents were present to start the year, and a meaningful prayer service was planned systematically. On this day, parents expressed their thoughts regarding the program. The Director and other Dignitaries provided positive responses. Yes, it was an excellent beginning.
