Aug 24 : Krishna Janmashtami also known as Gokulashtami is an annual Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Krishna, the 8th avatar of Vishnu. Mosaru Kudike is the sportive ceremony of breaking pots in commemoration of the childhood of lord Krishna and is celebrated with great enthusiasm in several parts of Mangalore and Udupi.
On this occasion Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Permannur celebrated this festival by putting up a wishing banner for Janmashtami. The Youth also witnessed the most famous ‘Mosaru Kudike’ celebration at Thokkottu. There were different tableaus depicting different mythological stories and also the most focused ‘Pili nalike’.

These gestures are very necessary to create a sense of unity among the youth. The unit Director Rev. Fr Cyprian Pinto motivated and supported the youth throughout this initiative.
