June 13 : Pompei Youngster’s Club - ICYM Gurpur Unit organized inaugural program THRIVE (Teamwork, Harmony, Resilience, Innovation, Vision, Empowerment) Oath Taking of the New Office Bearers, and Orientation program for the year 2024-2025. This event was held on 9th June in the Centenary Hall after the Sunday Eucharistic Holy Mass. President of this event Vicar Forane of Pezar Deanery, ICYM – PYC Director and Parish Priest V. Rev. Fr. Rudolf Ravi D’sa, Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Ashwin Cardoza, Director of ICYM Mangalore Diocese. Other guests, Parish Pastoral Council Vice President Mr. Romans Lobo, Parish Pastoral Council Secretary Mr. Johnson Lobo, Parish 21 commissions coordinator Mrs. Hilda Menezes, ICYM-PYC Animator Mr. Godwin Tauro, ICYM-PYC President Lester Menezes and Secretary Preema Menezes were the dignitaries on the dais.

Program began by seeking God’s blessings through the prayer song led by PYC Liturgy Secretary Reena Crasta and the group. ICYM-PYC President Lester Menezes welcomed the gathering. Next, all the dignitaries lighted the lamp, inaugurated the photo frame of ICYM-PYC Patron St. Gonzalo Garcia and Inaugurated the event THRIVE. ICYM - PYC Member Sholly Lobo briefly gave the information on the life of St. Gonzalo Garcia. V.Rev.Fr. Rudolf Ravi D’sa Director of ICYM - PYC conducted the Oath Taking Ceremony of the newly elected office bearers. Addressing the youth present for the event Rev. Fr.Ashwin Cardoza appreciated the youth for conducting such a well organized event and also for creating such a mesmerizing stage decoration, he appreciated Jyothsna Nazareth and the team for the work andhe asked everyone’s same support from all the other upcoming events and prayed god’s choicest blessings to all the youth present there. V.Rev.Fr. Rudolf Ravi D’sa appreciated the youngsters for the event and the active participation of youth in the activities. He concluded by wishing all the best to the youth and said that the name of our parish youth spread not only be limited in Parish Level but also should be in the deanery and whole Diocese. The vote of thanks was delivered by Preema Menezes, Secretary of ICYM-PYC Gurpur Unit. Stage was vacated by the Honorary Guests for the next program. ICYM - PYC member Josline Moras gave a brief introduction about the resource person Rev. Fr.Ashwin Cardoza, Director of ICYM Mangalore Diocese.

Next, the resource person Rev. Fr. Ashwin Cardoza made all the youth cheer-full by the ice breaking session and divided all the youngsters into five groups. He then explained the vision and mission of ICYM, how youngsters can get benefits from ICYM, and how it is going to help them in future by utilizing their talents. He stressed out the importance of time and perfection. There was an evaluation conducted about the session conducted. All the youngsters gave a positive response and feedback. The resource person Rev. Fr.Ashwin Cardoza thanked all the youth for actively participating in this event - THRIVE. ICYM - PYC Animator Mr. Godwin Tauro gave a memorable gift to Rev. Fr.Ashwin Cardoza as a token of gratitude. With the support of ICYM - PYC President, Secretary and the Executive Committee the event was a great success. ICYM - PYC Member Josline Moras gracefully hosted the entire event as the Masters of Ceremony. ICYM - PYC Member Shaun Fernandes clicked the photographs of the entire event. There were 40 youngsters present for the event.
