Dec 11 : ICYM St. John Paul II Deanery Vittal Youths visited ' De Mercede Orphanage ' in Paneer, Deralakatte on 10th December 2023.
De Mercede Orphanage was established in the year 1943 and is being taken care of by the Ursuline Franciscan Sisters of Mangalore Province. Presently the orphanage looks after around 100 children from different social backgrounds. Though the reason for their being here is different, all of their common features are poverty.

De Mercede orphanage provides them a happy Childhood good education as well as a healthy and hygienic environment to grow up.
The Day began with a short program where ICYM members were welcomed wholeheartedly. Praveen Dcunha ICYM President Vittal Deanery, Sharvin Dsouza ICYM Secretary Vittal Deanery and the Executive Committee and Vittal Deanery youths were present.
The youths spent time with Children. Youth entertained the children by teaching them action songs and some indoor games . Later Santa Claus entered the gathering and celebrated Christmas Carols.
The visit winded up with distribution of snacks , sponsored clothes, grocery & stationery for children by Donors. The youth enjoyed this day by celebrating Christmas Carols.
