Sep 5 : On the occasion of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, to be celebrated on September 8, the ICYM Moodbidri Unit organized 'Khela Sambhram' at the Corpus Christi Church ground in Moodbidri on Sunday, September 3, 2023. The inaugural program was presided over by V. Rev. Fr. Onil Dsouza, the Parish Priest of Corpus Christi Church Moodbidri. Mr. Vincent Dsouza, the Vice President of the Parish Council, along with Mr. Kevin D’souza and Mr. Royston Pinto, the Animators of ICYM Moodbidri, were dignitaries on the dais.

 

The program began with a prayer service led by Ms. Anisha Noronha and Carol Monterio. Ms. Preemal Aranha welcomed the gathering, and V. Rev. Fr. Onil D'souza addressed the audience, encouraging active participation with a spirit of good sportsmanship.

 

Following the inaugural function, various games were played in different categories, and parishioners actively participated in these group games. The Treasure Hunt, 'Hit the Pot,' and 'Throwing the Coconut' were special attractions of the day. Additionally, this year, inter-ward traditional games were conducted during the event. YCS members entertained the parishioners with some on-the-spot games.

 

Prizes were distributed to all the winners, and Ms. Carol Rebello delivered the vote of thanks. Ms. Preemal Aranha served as the program's emcee.
