Dec 11 : ICYM Paladka organised the IPL-3 Inter-parish cricket tournament for Men and Women on Sunday, 4th December 2022.

The inaugural program of the Tournament began at 9:30 by prayer led by Fr. Elias Dsouza ,Vice President of Parish council Arthur Dias, secretary Roshan Serrao, coordinator of 21 commissions Vincent pinto, vice-president of Moodbidri deanery Aman Cutinha, animators of Paladka unit Avil Dsouza and Prajwal Dsouza, president of Paladka unit Roshni Fernandes, secretary Gloria Cardoza were present on the dais.

ICYM President Roshni Fernandes Welcomed the gathering. Fr.Elias Dsouza addressed the gathering. The owners of the 6 teams were given mementos. All the sponsors were also given mementos. All the participants actively participated in the cricket tournament.

There were 6 teams:-

1. TEAM TRUST
2. PRAJWAL GLADIATORS
3. LOYOLA SUPER KINGS
4. PALADKA BLASTERS
5. DUBLIN CHALLENGERS
6. CRICSTARS PALADKA

The rules of the IPL-3 were as follows :-

  • 6 teams, 15 matches, 1 Mega Final.
  • Matches will begin sharp at 9:30 AM in the morning. For Each match they will be assigning ground maintenance duty which should be followed strictly.
  • Every team will have 5 matches each in the league stage. Winner gets 2 points.
  • In case of a tie in the league stage, wicket count will be considered.
  • Even if wickets are equal, it will be decided by toss.
  • Top 2 teams at the end of the league stage will be playing in the Mega Final.
  • In case of equal points between two teams for a Finalist spot (2nd & 3rd) will be decided by head to head.
  • Every match will be of 4 overs, with one compulsory ladies over. (1+3)
    (Organizers can decide to reduce the number of balls per over throughout any round from 6 balls to 5 balls depending on the time schedule)
  • Each batsman will have a run limit of 18 runs, after that the batsman has to retire.
  • For ladies over, the batsman will have to play their opposite batting stance. Switch hit is not allowed.
    Full wide is considered during ladies over.
    One lady can bowl the whole over, or balls can be shared 3+3.
  • There will be a "Fair Play Award" for the best behaving team on field at the end of the tournament.
  • Umpires decision is final.

Loyola super kings bagged the Winners Trophy and Prajwal gladiators bagged the Runners Trophy. Man of the match was awarded after each match. The Parish Priest congratulated the winners and runners by handing over the Trophy. The fair play award was given to team Dublin challengers.

Best Lady Player- Lishma
Man Of the match in Final - Steevan Dsouza
Man of the series- Royson

Pitch Committee led by Donald Aranha and
IPL core committee led by Steevan Dsouza were also honoured.

Breakfast and lunch were arranged for all the players and audience.
