Sep 4 : Indian Catholic Youth Movement Bajal unit organized "Youth Ignite 2023" a youth gathering program on August 27, 2023 for all the youths of Bajal Parish under the Guidance of Rev. Fr. Andrew Dsouza, Parish Priest and director of ICYM Bajal.

The program commenced at 9.15 am with a Prayer song led by ICYM Bajal members, continued by a short and sweet Inaugural Function. Ms. Jasmine Dsilva, Secretary ICYM Bajal, hosted the event. Mr. Prajwal Lobo, the President of the ICYM Bajal unit, welcomed the gathering. The inaugural function was presided over and Inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Thrishan Dsouza - Secretary of the Bishop of the Mangalore Diocese, as the Chief guest along with Rev. Fr. Andrew Dsouza, Parish priest of Holy Spirit Church, Bajal; Mr. Maurice Dsouza - Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council; Ms. Lydia Lobo - Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council; Mr. Liston Dsouza - All commissions Convener; Mr. Rocky Pinto - Convener of the Unity Commission (Youth Commission); Mr. Ronald Fernandes - Animator of ICYM Bajal Unit. Ms. Cynol Coelho, Treasurer ICYM Bajal proposed the vote of thanks.

The highlight of the day Dr. Mona Mendonca, Asst. Professor - St. Aloysius College Mangalore, addressed the youths, sharing valuable insights on benefits and disadvantages of social media and inspired young folks to uncover their life’s purpose. Mr. Melston Noronha, Paldane brought extra excitement to the event by conducting games and activities, keeping the youth fully engaged and energized throughout the day

The event was graced by the presence of several prominent figures from ICYM adding to the significance of the occasion. Rev. Fr. Ashwin Cardoza - Director of ICYM Mangalore Diocese, President Mithesh Dsouza, Secretary Wilma Lobo, and other council members were in attendance. Additionally, council members of the ICYM city deanery were also present for the event.

The event concluded with a lively baila performance, marking the end of "Youth Ignite 2023". Approximately 60 youths from the Bajal parish attended the program.
