Oct 5 : ICYM Bondel Unit organized BON CUP – 2018 on Sunday 23rd September 2018 at Hudko Grounds, Bondel. Alisten Tauro President ICYM Bondel unit welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering. Rev Fr Andrew Leo Dsouza Parish Priest presided over the programme meanwhile Mr Mithun Rai Youth Congress President - Dakshina Kannada was the chief guest for the programme. Rev Fr Clifford Pinto - Assistant Parish Priest, Rev Fr Leo Veigas, Wilfred Alvares - ICYM Animator, Henbert Pinto - Vice President and Francis Veigas - Secretary Parish Pastoral Council and Melinda Dsouza - Secretary ICYM Bondel unit were the dignitaries on the dias. The tournament was inaugurated by kicking the football towards the goal post by the dignitaries. Chief Guest Mr Mithun Rai addressed the gathering and motivated the youth while Rev Fr Andrew Leo Dsouza wished good luck to all the players participating in the tournament.

Lagori and Football tournament were conducted simultaneously. After a tough and interesting matches, Team Katipalla bagged BON CUP - 2018 trophy and a cash prize of Rs 9999/- while Team Valencia bagged the Runners Up trophy and a cash of Rs 5555/-. In the Lagori tournament, Team Bajjodi bagged BON CUP - 2018 trophy and a cash prize of Rs.4444/- while Team Merlapadav bagged the runners up trophy and a cash prize of Rs.2222/-. It was a special day for the Bondel Parishioners, as it was the Birthday of Parish Priest Rev Fr Andrew Leo Dsouza and The Bon Cup Tournament. Trophies were handed over to the winners of the tournament. Coach and referees of the tournament were honoured during the valedictory programme. ICYM Members of Bondel unit celebrated Birthday of Parish Priest by cutting the cake and sang the birthday song and Rev Fr Leo Viegas spoke on the tournament and wished Fr Andrew Leo Dsouza a fruitful days ahead. ICYM Unit Secretary Melinda proposed the vote of thanks. Ashel Sequiera compered the inaugural ceremony while the valedictory ceremony was anchored by Shanthi Priya Lasrado.
