Dec 24 : On Sunday, 17th of December 2023, Parish Priest of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Fr.Nilesh Crasta, in collaboration with ICYM Maril organized Christmas Games for all the parishioners on the occasion of Christmas.

Fr Alwyn Dsouza, hailing from Vamanjoor was invited as the Host for the various games that were conducted. Along with the Reverend, they had Deacon Br. Stanis Lopes and Br. Avith Pais to assist with the games. ICYM Maril Volunteers were responsible for the smooth functioning of the program.

The Program commenced at 2:00 pm in the Church ground Premises with Treasure Hunt which included all age groups of people. The Childrens games (Below KG – 10th) were organized by Br. Avith and Deacon Stanis Lopes. Simultaneously games were conducted for parishioners ranging from 16 to 60 years of age by Fr.Alwyn and Fr.Nilesh Crasta. The parishioners were divided into 4 groups with 4 captains respectively. The groups were named after Christmas Kuswar: Laddoo, Kidi, Guliyo and Cookies. The groups had an equal number of participants and for each game a certain number of age category people were asked to participate. The names of a few games are: Passing the box. The Hurdle Race, Banana game, Anthakshari, Tug of war and so on. Tug of war was separate for men and women. The groups were given points for winning each competition and the group with the highest score was given the championship title. Group 1 was the overall Champion. The prizes will be distributed on the Christmas Evening Program.

The games session concluded at 6 pm along with the Baila session. It was a successful program overall.
