June 18 : The ICYM youth of Uppinagady unit inspired by the initiative of ICYM Mangalore Diocese initiated Mission Share and Care Uppinagady - 2021.

Some of the families in the Uppinagady area were in varying stages of financial distress. Many individuals work for a daily pay, while others work in the fields. These families' situation has gotten worse as a result of the pandemic lockdown.

The ICYM youth of the parish joined together and launched this campaign aimed at eradicating hunger.

Rev Fr Abel Lobo, Director of the ICYM Uppinangady Unit, blessed this initiative on June 14, 2021. Many young people came together to help the cause.

Rice, wheat, sugar, tea powder, sambar powder, oil, Bombay rava, onion, salt, green gramme, dosa rice, daal, beaten rice, and chana are all included in the package. The cost of each kit was ₹800. More than 25 food kits were distributed to the needy families of the surrounding area.

This mission was led by Mr Rakshith Pinto - Nominated member of ICYM Central Council Mangalore Diocese and supported by  Mr Nelson Pais President of the ICYM Uppinagady unit.

Many people are inspired by the goodwill of these youth. They have given their time and energy without expecting anything in return. We thank them for their assistance in this pandemic period. We are also grateful to the ICYM Central Council for providing some kits and for inspiring others through  their noble effort.
