Aug 19, 2017: On 13th August, 2017 in view of bringing together youth of the church under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Paul, ICYM Farla organised "Yuva Parzal 2017". The wonderful day began with the Holy Eucharist followed by breakfast at 10 a.m. Yuva Parzal event began with the prayer song. Mr. Steeven President ICYM, Farla welcomed the gathering, after which all the dignitaries lighted the lamp, as a symbolic represention of the inaugural.
The stage program was presided over by Rev. Fr. Paul Cutinha, Fr. Ronald D’souza Director ICYM Mangalore Diocese. Rev. Fr. Jason D’Souza, Fr. Melwyn Menezes, Mrs Irine Albuquerque Secretary of PPC, Mr. Elroy Saldana President ICYM Mangalore Diocese, Mrs Sunitha Baptist YCS Animator, Mr. Prakash Veigas President ICYM Bantwal Deanery were also present.
Rev. Fr. Paul inspired youth with his encouraging words and stressed that youth should be accepted with love and care. Rev. Fr. Ronald guided about what it means to be a ICYM, enlighted about the duties and service. Mrs. Irine Albuquerque stressed the need of being united and in order to keep the ICYM energetic. Miss. Flexita Secretary ICYM Farla thanked dignitaries for their presence and love.
The seminar talk was held by Rev. Fr. Richard D’Souza. He inspired the youth with his insightful thoughts on "where are our youth today?" and "what is the part of youth in the society at large?". Then Miss Nirma D’Souza enlighted about the relationship between PPC and ICYM, Youth need to be inspired to take PPC membership and serve the Parish. At 2 p.m. lunch was served. Later Fr. Melwyn and Fr. Jason entertained the youth by conducting various games. The program concluded at 5 p.m. Nearly 50 young people participated enthusiastically in the Yuva Parzal program.
