Aug 31 : On 28th of August 2022, Indian Catholic Youth Movement Vittal unit organized "One Step Towards Orphanage (ಆಶ್ರಮಾ ಕುಶಿನ್ ಏಕ್ ಮೇಟ್)" - a visit to De Mercede Orphanage at Deralakatte on the occasion of centennial year celebration of Our Lady of Dolours Church, Vittal.

At 11:30 a formal program began with prayer. The prayer was led by Renisha Rodrigues. Dignitaries on the dais were Sr. Luci, head of De Mercede Orphanage Deralakatte, Mr. Thomas Mascarenhas, Animator of Vittal ICYM ; Jostan Lobo, President of Vittal ICYM and Prithesh Lobo, Secretary of Vittal ICYM.

The Unit President Jostan Lobo welcomed the gathering. Sr. Luci, head of the Orphanage gave a clear picture and information about the orphanage, Unit Secretary Prithesh Lobo proposed a vote of thanks with which the formal program came to an end. The program was led by Deena Lobo.

After the formal program, a few games, group activities and action songs were taught to the children. Children were awarded with the prizes at the end of the program. Snacks and Juice were served. At the end of the program, the children shared their experience regarding the programme. The children and the ICYM members actively participated and made the day memorable.
