Sep 7 : On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, Indian Catholic Youth Movement, Vittal Unit along with Young Catholic Students, Vittal organised “Teachers’ Day” in order to felicitate all the teachers of the Parish including Catechism teachers at Our Lady of Dolours Church mini hall on 4th of September 2022.

The program commenced after the Holy Eucharist at 8.30 am. The program began with the prayer song led by Renisha and the group.

Dignitaries on the dais were Rev. Fr. Ivan Michel Rodrigues, the Parish Priest and Director of ICYM and YCS Vittal, Mr. Manohar Lancy Dsouza - Parish Council Vice President, Dr. Rita Crasta - Lecture of Physics (PG) department St. Aloysius College Mangalore, Mrs. Jacintha Lasrado – Education Commission Convener, Mr. Avil Rodrigues - President ICYM Vittal Deanery, Mr. Jostan Lobo - President ICYM Vittal Unit, Mr. Joywin Lobo - President YCS Vittal Deanery and Mr. Preetham Lobo - President YCS Vittal unit.

Mr. Jostan Lobo welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering. Mr. Joyel Pinto introduced the chief guest. Dr. Rita Crasta addressed the gathering saying that the responsibility of a teacher is not just teaching from the books alone, her responsibility is to teach lessons for life which are not contained in the book so that the child learns to live his / her life. Thereafter, Rev. Fr. Ivan Michel Rodrigues expressed his thoughts and experience about the Teachers’ day and the importance of teachers in one’s life.

Dilroy Mascarenhas conducted some fun games for all the teachers and the prizes were distributed to the winners.

As part of entertainment, a dance was performed by the members of ICYM and YCS. Action songs were also conducted. Towards the end Rev. Fr. Ivan Michel Rodrigues , Dr. Rita Crastha, all the teachers and the guests present on the dais were presented with roses as a token of love and as a gesture of gratitude.

At the end of the program Mr. Preetham Lobo proposed the vote of thanks.

Later Breakfast was served. It was wonderful to see 35 teachers and around 43 youths who took part in the program. It was successfully led by Dilroy Mascarenhas and Crystal Lobo.
