Aug. 16, 2017: Indian Catholic Youth Movement Cordel unit organised "Cordel Cup 2017" on 13 August 2017 at Cordel Church football ground. The function was presided over by Fr Victor Machado, Parish Priest of Holy Cross Church and also director of ICYM Cordel unit, Fr Santhosh Dsouza, Asst. director of ICYM Cordel unit, Vice President of Pastoral Mr Loy Noronha, Secretary Mr Sathurine Monteiro, ICYM President Ms. Vinitha Rego, Sports Secretary Mr Ajay Pinto were present at the inaugural.
The "Cordel Cup 2017" cricket tournament was inaugrated by Fr Victor Machado symbolically by playing the first ball and accompanied by other dignitaries. A friendly match between the ICYM girls and other sportive women of our church was also held. The commentators of the match were Mr Rynel Sequiera and Mr Valentine Crasta.
In total there were 11 teams.
