Nov 21 : On November 19, 2023, the ICYM Bondel Unit orchestrated a meaningful celebration for International Men’s Day at St. Lawrence Church Bondel. The day commenced with a heartfelt Thanksgiving Mass at 7:00 a.m., with Rev. Fr. Andrew Leo D'Souza as the main celebrant, joined by Rev. Fr. Valerian Mendonca SJ. and Fr. Theodore Rosario Pinto.
Following the Mass, an engaging felicitation program unfolded, orchestrated by ICYM members. Eight distinguished men from diverse fields within the Bondel parish were acknowledged for their outstanding contributions. Mr. Prakash C N Pinto received recognition for his service to society, Mr. Valerian D’Silva for his dedication to the Christian community, and Mr. Lawrence Robert D’Silva for his commendable service in agriculture.

Dr. Suraj Francis Noronha was honored for his achievements in the field of education, Alrick Livian D'Silva for his service in the youth movement, Mr. Wilfred Alvares for his leadership, Fr. Theodore Rosario Pinto for his exemplary religious life, and Lt. Col. Grecian Sequiera for his service in the defense sector.
The felicitation was accompanied by the gracious presentation of shawls, flowers, and mementos. The introductions were eloquently delivered by Miss Caroline Pinto, Miss Melinda D’Souza, Miss Minal Monteiro, and Miss Primal Sequiera, with Joyce Juhi D'cunha as the master of ceremony. Bianca Viola Saldanha, ICYM Bondel Unit president, and Murel Evon Misquith, ICYM Bondel secretary, added their significant roles to the event.
Rev. Fr. Andrew Leo D’Souza, in his address, expressed gratitude for the committed and selfless service of these dedicated men across various fields. The esteemed gathering included Rev. Fr. Peter Gonsalves, Director of the ICYM Bondel Unit, Rev. Fr. Lancy D’Souza, Asst Parish Priest, and Rev. Fr. Valerian Mendonca SJ, along with Animator Zeena Cornelio.
The program concluded on a harmonious note with a Thanksgiving hymn, and to cap off the festivities, ICYM Bondel extended warm wishes to all men and shared a celebratory cake-cutting moment.
