Oct 22, 2017: Senior Citizen’s Day was organized on 22nd October 2017 at Bannur Unit, Puttur. Unit ICYM Director Rev Fr. Prashanth Fernandes offered a special mass for all the Senior Citizen’s of Bannur parish.
After mass all the Senior Citizen’s of our parish had gathered in the church hall, 57 Senior Citizen’s were present for the function. Dignitaries such as Sr. Jacintha D’souza Principal of Father Muller College of Nursing Mangalore, Bannur parish priest Rev Fr. Prashanth Fernandes and assistant priest Fr. Balthazar Pinto, along with the Parish Council Vice President Mr. Inas Gonsalves and Secretary Mrs. Wilma Gonsalves were present for the function.
Program started with the prayer and lighting the lamp. Unit President Mr. Deepak Johnson D’souza welcomed the gathering. Dignitaries who were present in the dais spoke few words addressing the gathering. Followed by dance, singing and skit presented by our unit ICYM members. Mr. Deekshith Gonsalves concluded with the vote of thanks, Unit Secretary Miss. Preema Fernandes compered the programme.
Sr. Jacintha D’souza gave a special talk on Health care and about the life style addressing the Senior Citizen’s, ICYM members conducted few games to Senior Citizen’s. Unit Parish Priest Fr. Prashanth Fernandes distributed small gift to each Senior Citizen’s who were present in the programme. It was a great memorable day to all Senior Citizen’s and unit ICYM members.
