Aug 16 : "Every blood donation is a gift of life. "

 

ICYM Kokkada unit along with Catholic Sabha, organised a Blood donation camp on Sunday, 13th August 2023 from 9.30 am to 1pm at  St. John's School, Kokkada with the help of Indian Red Cross Society Blood Bank , Lady Goshen Hospital, Mangalore.

 

The blood donation camp commenced with a short Inaugural programme which was led by Vanditha Lobo.

 

Rev.Fr.Ashok D'Souza - president of the program, Chief guest Mr.Bharath - Lab technician Indian Red Cross Society Blood Bank , Lady Goshen Hospital, Mangalore; Mr.Praveen Noel Monteiro - vice-president of parish pastoral council; Veena Mascarenhas - Secretary of Parish pastoral Council; Kevin Rodrigue - Red drop representative, ICYM Mangalore diocese; Antony Mascarenhas - President, ICYM Puttur Deanery; Jayanth D'Souza - Animator of ICYM Kokkada Unit, Jacintha Dsouza - Representative of Youth commission Kokkada, Pradeep Dsouza - President, ICYM Kokkada unit; Sahana Mariya Dsouza - Secretary of ICYM Kokkada Unit were the dignitaries present on the dais.

Pradeep Dsouza, President, ICYM Kokkada unit welcomed the gathering. Fr Ashok D'Souza addressed the gathering on the importance of blood donation and saving lives and Mr.Bharath spoke on the basic requirements and eligibility to be considered as blood donors. Sahana Mariya  Dsouza Secretary of ICYM proposed the vote of thanks.

 

There were about 30 kind hearted donors who with their great act of service made this camp a successful one.
