Indian Catholic Youth Movement, Puttur Unit, Mai De Deus School, St. Victor Girls High School, St. Victor English Higher Primary School, Mai De Deus Higher Primary School,Puttur jointly celebrated Van Mahotsav and Environment Day on Friday, 6th July 2018 at Mai De Deus Church Campus, Puttur by organising a procession to create awareness among the people.

Mrs. Rosaline Lobo - Headmistress, St. Victor Girls High School welcomed the students and the gathering. V. Rev. Fr. Alfred John Pinto - Parish Priest, Mai De Deus Church, Puttur and Correspondent presided and inaugurated the programme. Sri Hole Basappa - Assistant Director of Horticulture was the Chief Guest for the programme and he addressed the students and the gathering by highlighting the importance of growing plants and trees. Rev. Fr. Praveen Dsouza - Assistant Parish Priest, Mai De Deus Church, Puttur, Heads of the 4 institutions, ICYM Members, Teaching and Non Teaching Staffs and the students of 4 institutions had actively participated in the procession and made it a grand success.

Rev. Fr. Praveen Dsouza inspired ICYM youngsters to collaborate with these 4 institutions and to make it a joint venture. Heads of the 4 institutions, PTA Vice President, Mrs. Dimple Fernandes - ICYM Coordinator, Mr. Gavin Mascarenhas - ICYM Puttur Unit President, Mr. J. P Rodrigues - Vice President ,Parish Pastoral Council, Puttur were present for the programme. Van Mahotsav and Environment Day Celebration was a grand success. This event has brought awareness among the students and the gathering about the grow green initiative in and around the city and has strengthened the bond between plants and humans. Ms. Dimple Tauro - Public Relations Officer ( P.R.O ) ICYM Puttur Unit proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Mr. Inas Gonsalves, Faculty - St. Victor Girls High School .
