Feb 26, 2017: Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) of Mogarnad Deanery in association with Sallethur Youth Movement organized ‘Varado Khella Sangam - 2017’, an special sports tournament of County cricket, Lagori and Tug of War in the Sallethur Church grounds on Sunday 26th February 2017.
The tournament started with the invocation by the Varado youth. Rev. Fr Henry D’Souza SFX Director of ICYM Mogarnad Deanery presided over the inaugural program. Diocesan Youth Director of Mangalore Diocese Rev. Fr Ronald Prakash D’Souza was present as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the tournament by playing the county cricket. In his inaugural address he spoke on the importance of games to develop discipline in youth life and how youth movements can be built through such tournaments. He also wished the best to the Mogarnad deanery youth. Later Fr Henry D’Souza SFX in his presidential address applauded the work of the deanery youth in building the ICYM movement.
Vice President of Sallethur Parish Council Mr. Felix Kamaje, members of ICYM executive committee Mr. Wilson Dsouza and Mr. Ashwin Sequiera, Sallethur ICYM unit President Ms. Mevlin and Secretary Mr. Premraj were present.
Mogarnad Deanery ICYM President Mr. Sandesh Ferao welcomed the gathering while Joint Secretary Mr. Francis Crasta proposed the vote of thanks.
For the concluding ceremony of the tournament Vicar Forane of Mogarnad Deanery Rev. Fr. Dr. Mark Castelino was present along with Rev. Fr Henry D’Souza SFX Director of ICYM Mogarnad Deanery for the distribution of prizes. Nearly 150 youth of the Deanery actively took part in the tournament.

Tug of war - 1st place Mogarnad Unit & 2nd place Sallethur Unit
County cricket - 1st place Vittla Unit & 2nd place Shamboor Unit
Lagori - 1st place Sallethur Unit & 2nd place Vittla Unit
