Mangaluru, Aug 14, 2017: ICYM Vamanjoor Unit organised ‘REUNITE REFRESH’ one day youth orientation programme for all the youth of Vamanjoor parish on 13 Aug 2017 at Vamanjoor Church Hall. Fr Cyprian Pinto Parish Priest of Vamanjoor parish was the chief guest for the inaugural function and he formally inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. Movin Dsouza the president of ICYM Vamanjoor welcomed the gathering.
Fr Jason Monis the assistant parish priest, Mr Sunil Pinto the secretary of Vamanjoor parish, Mr Nobert Misquith the resource person, Renita Fernandes the secretary of ICYM Vamanjoor, Rohan Pereira and Edwin Pinto the animators of ICYM Vamanjoor were present on the dais. Fr Cyprian Pinto appreciated the work done by the ICYM members of Vamanjoor in organising REUNITE REFRESH. Renita Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks. Sonal Dsouza compered the inaugural programme.
Soon after the inaugural function, Mr Nobert Misquith the resource person conducted a session on ‘Knowing each other’ which was fun filled with games, group activity and ice breaking sessions. Around 120 youth of the parish actively participated in the event.
The next session was on the topic ‘Drugs and its Effects’ conducted by Mr Santhosh Peter Dsouza, an Advocate by profession. After the session Inspector of Mangaluru Rural Police Station, Inspector Shivaprakash gave information about the legal problems caused due to the consumption of drugs. After the lunch, the youth again assembled in the hall at 1:30 p.m. for group activities and fun filled games which was conducted by Rohan Pereira.
Rev. Fr Ronald Prakash Dsouza Director of ICYM Mangaluru Diocese, Elroy Saldanha ICYM Central Council President, Ivy Melisha Dsouza Lady Vice President and other office bearers attended the event. Elroy Saldanha gave information about their next project ‘Red Drop Campaign’ and urged the youth to come forward and donate blood and save the lives of people who are in need.
The programme concluded with Fr Cyprian Pinto congratulating all the ICYM executive committee and the members for organising the event successfully. All in all it was a day to be remembered for all the youth of Vamanjoor.
